How the planner works

We count your selected weekday workdays as leave unless they are a national observed holiday or your selected anniversary. Suggestions exclude past start dates, stay inside the selected year and search up to 16 days either side of each holiday. We show up to six distinct ideas; this is not a full-year leave allocation or an exhaustive optimiser.

School overlap labels cover published between-term breaks; school-specific summer dates and teacher-only days are excluded. Weekend and rotating rosters, transferred holidays and employer closures need individual checks. Leave requires employer approval.

“Days per leave day” divides the whole break by leave days. Breaks requiring no leave are shown separately. Calendar downloads contain only the requested annual leave dates, not confirmed bookings.

Example: take 26–29 October 2027 as annual leave for a nine-day break from 23–31 October, for a usual Monday–Friday working pattern with Labour Day off.
